The referral of a specific investment product directly to investors.

Tessera will also work to:

  • Identify both potential and active searches through contact with prospective investors, consultants, other investment managers, introductory meetings, conferences, clients and trade publications.

  • Manage the search process by ensuring that all RFP's and other requested materials are submitted on time and accurately reflect the manager's product.

  • Clarify the manager's qualifications for the search.

  • Schedule a series of presentations including on-site due diligence meetings, semi-finals and finals presentations to further the manager's chances of success.

  • Create new materials that effectively explain the manager's product and approach. Materials may include presentation books, quarterly updates, one-pagers, and competitive analyses.

  • Help to negotiate contract terms for new accounts when appropriate.

  • Solicit feedback from prospects to understand the reasons why the firm did not win a particular mandate.

Tessera's approach includes:

  • Frequent Communication with potential investors:

    -Calls to Tessera's contacts to introduce the manager
    -Establishment of new relationships when appropriate
    -Frequent follow-ups with prospects interested in a firm or strategy
    -Face-to-face meetings
    -On-site due diligence meetings
    -Use of email marketing software to send out product updates and reviews and monitor effectiveness of each campaign.
    -Conferences and other networking forums

  • Design and implement a sales and marketing plan tailored to each manager's needs

  • Identify a list of prospects that include the manager's strategy in their current allocations
