Donna B. DiMaria

Ms. DiMaria is a Principal of the firm and serves as Tessera's Chief Executive Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and a Relationship Manager.  Donna has been with Tessera since the firm’s inception in 2004 and has helped the firm to raise nearly $1 billion in assets for its manager clients. 

Prior to forming Tessera, Ms. DiMaria was the Director of Consultant Relations at WestAM. Donna was recruited in mid 2000 by WestAM to develop and implement an independent consultant relationship management function within the organization. During her tenure at WestAM, the US Consultant Relations team worked with nearly 100 different traditional and specialty consulting firms. Ms. DiMaria was personally responsible for nearly 40 global, national, regional, and broker consulting firms.

Donna was responsible for all aspects of the consultant relations' function. In this capacity she coordinated WestAM's global consultant activities for the firm's offices in US, Europe, Australia, Tokyo, Latin America and Hong Kong. She also worked closely with product CIOs and investment teams, product specialists, new business development and client service personnel (US & overseas), senior management, and finance and operations functions. Donna also monitored and maintained consultant relations team's budget.

Ms. DiMaria worked with all of WestAM's product offerings including International, Global, ADR, and Emerging Market equity, US, Global and Emerging Market fixed income, US & Global Private Equity and Multi-strategy Hedge funds. She was also instrumental in developing several of the firm's new product offerings.

While at WestAM, Donna managed two consultant relations' professionals and two marketing associates. She also oversaw the RFP & consultant questionnaire process and utilized a variety of performance related databases to position the firm's products. Ms. DiMaria aided the marketing group in the creation of marketing materials, wrote and researched a variety of topics which where published as white papers, and worked closely with the compliance and performance measurement teams to ensure adherence to all AIMR and SEC regulations. Donna also directed WestAM's public relations activity and press strategy in the United States.


Preceding her role at WestAM, Ms. DiMaria was employed by Forstmann-Leff International from 1997 to 2000 as a Vice President in the Institutional Sales and Marketing group. Donna was not only responsible for all consultant related activities at the organization, but was also involved in making new business and finals presentations to a variety of client types including corporations, endowments, foundations, public funds, family offices and high-net worth individuals. She represented all of Forstman-Leff's product offerings including domestic equity, fixed income, private equity and hedge funds and was responsible for servicing the new clients she brought to the firm. 

Ms. DiMaria also managed Forstmann-Leff's RFP / Consultant Questionnaire Team consisting of three employees. She reviewed all consultant questionnaires and RFPs responded to by firm, implemented procedures to facilitate the collection and dissemination of the firm's information, helped to create marketing materials used by the organization including presentation books and a quarterly newsletter representing all of the firm's products, compiled & presented investment performance in accordance with AIMR standards and conducted competitive analysis for use in marketing presentations

From 1994 - 1997, Ms. DiMaria was an Assistant Treasurer and Fixed Income Product Specialist at Union Bank of Switzerland Asset Management. Donna's main function was to serve as a liaison between the fixed income product area and the sales/marketing team. In this capacity she helped to create fixed income marketing materials, RFPs and consultant questionnaires, coordinate due diligence meetings for potential clients and consultants interact with clients on a daily basis, prepared a quarterly Benchmark Analysis and supervised 8 employees.


Prior to working in the investment management industry, Ms. DiMaria held the position of Analyst in Kidder Peabody's Investment Banking and Business Unit Controller's Group from 1989-1993. During that time she was responsible for providing senior management with weekly revenue estimates, analyzing product profitability, generating monthly budgets and profitability forecasts. Donna also supervised 5 employees and oversaw the daily functions of the department.

From 1988 to 1989 Donna was employed by Prudential Securities where she worked as a staff accountant for mortgage and asset backed securities.

Ms. DiMaria received a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Finance from Binghamton University in May 1988. She graduated as a Stern Scholar with a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance in May 1999 from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at N.Y.U. Donna is the Chairman and the Treasurer of the Third Party Marketers Association ("3PM") as well as the chair of the Marketing and Communication Committee.  She is also a member of the FINRA Membership Committee, a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and holds the Series 7, 24, 63, 65, 79 and 99 registrations.
